The long awaited part two of our U.S. road trip. This one is primarily about Badlands National Park in South Dakota. It really deserves a full blog of its own because it is an absolutely incredible place to visit. The rugged beauty of its landscape with its sharply eroded buttes, pinnacles and spires easily makes it one of the most beautiful parks we’ve ever visited. Badlands National Park also has bison, bighorn sheep and prairie dogs. At times we couldn’t help thinking one of those giant bugs from the movie Starship Troopers would come walking around a corner or appear on top of one of the buttes. The barren landscape of Badlands was chosen to simulate the bug homeworld of Klendathu. For those that really don’t like bugs, especially giant ones, it would probably be a good idea not to watch the movie before visiting Badlands National Park. Concentrate on the cute bighorn sheep.
Here are some of our favourites from our trip. Hope you enjoy them!
