Ed and Elfreda Go Dogsledding | Kitchener-Waterloo Photographers

Today seems like the perfect day to share the photos from our dogsledding trip. It’s an unbearably hot and humid day today. The temperature hit 32 Celsius and we are still in the month of May. I’m pretty sure that is hotter than any day we had last summer. So, with the humidity killing us today we are feeling very nostalgic for the -20 Celsius temps we enjoyed the morning of our dogsledding adventure. It just sounds so comfortable today.

Dogsledding was easily one of the most exhilarating things we’ve ever done. It was a huge adrenaline rush. Elfreda and I did a full day tour and the day just flew. I had been dogsledding with a few good friends before and I had been looking forward to going again ever since. This was Elfreda’s first time and she absolutely loved it. We had talked about going the last few winters but finally made it happen this year. The company we did it with is Winterdance Dogsled Tours and they are located in the Haliburton Highlands in Ontario.

We would happily recommend doing a dogsled tour with Winterdance. The guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. Most importantly they love and care for the dogs. All of the dogs are treated very well and really cared for. That is something that is very important to Elfreda and I. Their dogs are traditional purebred Siberian Huskies and they are so loveable. All of the dogs on our sled team were super affectionate and friendly. The loved being petted. They also really love to pull the sled and run. It could clearly be seen as soon as they were hooked up to the sled in the morning. Immediately they began to howl and lunge forward. The dogs just wanted to get going and that continued throughout the day.

Elfreda and I loved dogsledding so much! We would both say it was one of the highlights of our lives so far. We will definitely be going again in the future. If you love dogs and also enjoy a good adrenaline rush dogsledding is definitely something you should experience. It’s a true Canadian winter experience.

We were pretty busy throughout the day dogsledding so we weren’t able to take as many photos as usual. Hope you enjoy the ones we were able to capture though.
