Ashley and Kyle tied the knot at the beautiful Hotel Riu Guanacaste Resort in Costa Rica. The Riu Guanacaste sits along the shores of Mato Palo beach and is surrounded by tropical palm trees and views of the Guanacaste’s rolling mountains. Ashley and Kyle are loved by a lot of people so it was a very big group that joined them in Costa Rica for their destination wedding. It seemed to us like the majority of the people on the flight from Toronto were part of the wedding group.
We had beautiful weather the whole week in Costa Rica and most importantly on Ashley and Kyle’s wedding day. The day started with Ashley and her bridal party getting ready at the spa conveniently located right between the Riu Guanacaste and its sister hotel, the Riu Palace. Later we caught up with Kyle and the groomsmen as they were prepping. Ashley and Kyle chose to do a first look early in the day followed by bride and groom photos, bridal party photos and then their family photos. They were going to have a late day ceremony and the sun sets fairly early in Costa Rica. It wouldn’t have left much time for photos after the ceremony so the best plan of action was to do most earlier in the day. It definitely made their wedding day more relaxing for them and their first look was incredibly romantic and intimate. Their ceremony took place at a spot on the beach situated between the Riu Guanacaste and the Riu Palace but away from the crowds of both resorts. It was a perfect intimate location to say their I do’s. As the ceremony began the light was already magical and soft. After the ceremony we had just enough time to capture some portraits of the newlywed couple before heading to the open-air reception to capture the rest of the wedding celebration.
Elfreda and I loved documenting Ashley & Kyle’s wedding day and had an amazing time with them. We also cannot wait to return to Costa Rica again to explore more of the country.
Ashley and Kyle, thank you for choosing us to capture your gorgeous destination wedding! It was incredible and an honour to be able to share it with you.
