Laura and Joe said their I do’s at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum in Kitchener, Ontario. Their beautiful and fun wedding ceremony took place inside the historic Freeport church located in the Doon Heritage Village. We started capturing their big day with Joe getting ready with the guys at home in Waterloo and Laura getting ready at her parents’ home in Kitchener. Definitely some of the most fun we’ve ever had with a groom getting ready. Elfreda and I could quickly tell it was going to be a very fun day with this awesome couple. We were already really looking forward to their wedding day after doing their engagement session. The day we did their engagement photos was the first time we met in person and we soon could see they are an amazing couple. Laura and Joe are so friendly, happy and warm. The kind of people you just love to be around. They were quickly so natural in front of the camera and clearly so in love. Laura and Joe were no different on their wedding day. Both of them we so excited and we could see they enjoyed each and every moment of their day. It was a gorgeous late summer day. Absolutely ideal weather for their wedding day. They had a late afternoon ceremony which was perfect because soon after the ceremony ended Doon Heritage Village closed to the public for the day. That meant we had the entirety of the Heritage Village to ourselves for photos. As soon as 5:00 pm hit it became a ghost town. We had a fantastic time exploring the town and doing photos first with the bridal party and then just our cool fun couple. Definitely one of the perks of having your wedding at Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum is being able to use Doon Heritage Village for your wedding photos. It is only available to couples who actually have their wedding ceremony and/or their reception at Waterloo Region Museum. The museum building Grand Foyer is a wonderful space for a wedding reception, too. The soaring walls of limestone and repurposed barn timbers along with floor to ceiling windows brings in tons of light makes it a fantastic wedding venue space. We can also say the catering was excellent. The food was delicious and the service was quick and very professional. Overall, we think the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum is an awesome wedding venue.
Working with and getting to know Laura and Joe was so much fun! Their chemistry and their realness made it such a pleasure spending their big day with them. Laura and Joe, thank you so much for choosing us to capture and tell the story of your special day.
