We love meeting new families and capturing stunning family portraits for them. Now this beautiful and fun family we already knew because we were their wedding photographers and captured all the special moments of their wedding day for them. Elfreda and I are always honoured when our couples continue to ask us to document the special moments in their lives. We love seeing them start families and see those families grow. This family photo shoot was a backyard portrait session at the family home. It will be very special to look back at the photos someday since it is a location where they will have spent so much time together. A family’s backyard always holds so many special memories for the children and parents alike. Every backyard doesn’t work for family portraits but we love it when they do. Sometimes the background isn’t good for portraits. Then we would recommend heading to another outdoor location for your family portrait session. By far the majority of time we do our family photo shoots at locations other than the family home so don’t worry about that at all. For this family it worked perfectly since the children are very young and a lot of the focus was getting photos of the newborn baby with mom, dad and big brother.
