Addo Elephant National Park | South Africa

Breathtaking South Africa.  Our home away from home. It really is a second home for me, and for Elfreda it is the country that she grew up in. For those of you that don’t know, Elfreda is South African. And now she is also a proud Canadian. We were able to visit this past winter and escape a good part of the Canadian winter.  Though it really wasn’t much of winter in Ontario; likely the warmest in years. Elfreda and I also got to spend Christmas with family and that was the best part of all.

During this visit we did a few camping trips with Elfreda’s mom and dad. One of them was to Addo Elephant National Park. For us, a visit to South Africa is never complete without at least one camping safari. Elfreda and I both absolutely love animals and every visit is unique and an incredible experience.  This was our second visit in the same year to Addo and it was even better than the last. We spent 6 awesome days in the park doing game drives in the morning and late afternoon followed by delicious braais in the evening. There is also nothing more magical than lying in your tent at night listening to the sounds of the African bush.

Here are some of our favourite photos from our time in Addo. Hope you enjoy them!
