Becoming the go-to family portrait photographers in the Kitchener-Waterloo and Cambridge area didn’t just happen overnight. It’s been this wonderfully chaotic journey that’s taken years of practice to become the best photographers we can be, and it is something we continue to work on. We are always trying to learn and be better at what we do. Being a professional photographer is about much more than just snapping pretty pictures. Apart from all the technical aspects of photography, it’s about connecting with families, especially the kids. It’s super important to us to make sure everyone feels relaxed in front of the camera, and that includes those little ones who can be quite shy at first when they meet new people. That is the challenge – making families and kids feel very comfortable so they can be themselves after meeting us in only a very short amount of time. It isn’t something just any photographer can do. A lot of it has come naturally to us and other elements we have learned along the way. We love capturing those genuine moments that reflect how children truly are- those spontaneous bursts of laughter, authentic giggles when playing a game, and the silly quirks that make every child unique. We want to capture the emotion and facial expressions that mom and dad know so well.
We had such a fun session with this beautiful family during an outdoor shoot in the fall. The fall colours were just popping! The backdrop of autumn leaves added warmth and vibrancy to their photos. We are always there to help suggest a gorgeous location around the area that would be ideal for family photos, but we are also happy to go to a special location you might already have in mind. No matter the season, every time of the year is the perfect time for family photos. We love working with families in the tri-city area and places like Elora, St. Jacobs, Elmira and New Hamburg.
